A package of bills aimed at improving career and technical education in Pennsylvania is moving through the House Education Committee toward early legislative action. At a press conference Monday in Harrisburg, a bipartisan group of lawmakers showcased the 8 bills aimed at putting Pennsylvania Families First by increasing job training opportunities, addressing the skills gap and solving the issue of skilled worker shortages that are viewed as holding back the state’s economy. Education Committee member Rep. Craig Staats (R-Bucks) offered comments on his House Bill 265 that is part of the package of workforce development legislation.
