HARRISBURG – Rep. Craig Staats (R-Bucks) announced today that the SEPTA Key Card event scheduled for March 20 at his Quakertown office has been cancelled due to health concerns arising from COVID-19 and the threat to older citizens.
“Evidence of the pandemic has reached Bucks County and we simply cannot put our elderly constituents at risk,” said Staats. “The SEPTA Key Card program permits residents age 65 and older to ride free on the SEPTA transit system. My event would draw the very demographic most at risk of serious health consequences from the virus. Therefore, it is necessary to cancel the event.”
Staats regrets any inconvenience and said he will be sure to announce any future plans to reschedule when it is appropriate to do so.
