HARRISBURG – Today, state Rep. Craig Staats (R-Bucks) stands with the nation of Israel and strongly condemns the recent terrorist attacks from Hamas that began last weekend. He issued the following statement:
“I strongly condemn the terrorist actions taken by the Hamas organization over the past week. These attacks have taken the lives of over 1,000 Israelis in some of the most brutal ways possible as Hamas soldiers have invaded their borders.
“Along with the lives lost, Hamas has taken hostages of not just the Israeli people, but American citizens as well. Committing these attacks on the 50th anniversary of the Yom Kippur War, the last great conflict in Israel, has rekindled the traumatic feelings for those who survived this war. The wounds from this new conflict will linger in the same way.
“I also want to thoroughly condemn the marches that have taken place in Philadelphia that have all but celebrated these horrific attacks on Israel. The Democratic Socialists of America should be ashamed of themselves for supporting these marches and for pushing the worst type of propaganda against one of America’s greatest allies.
“My prayers are with Israel in this time of great stress for their people and nation.”
