HARRISBURG – Reps. Craig Staats (R-Bucks), Shelby Labs (R-Bucks), Joe Hogan (R-Bucks), K.C. Tomlinson (R-Bucks) and Kristin Marcell (R-Bucks) today announced that the Bucks County Historical Society (BCHS) has received a $4,000 grant from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC).
“We are all very pleased to see the Bucks County Historical Society earn this grant from the PHMC this week. BCHS has been a great resource for the county and for those who are interested in learning more about the deep and fascinating history of Bucks County. The support from the PHMC recognizes the work that the nearly 40 full-time workers and 200 volunteers do to educate and celebrate the history of Bucks County.”
The Bucks County Historical Society was founded in 1880 by Gen. William Watts Hart Davis and has been headquartered at the Elkins Building in Doylestown since 1904. The Bucks County Historical Society is supported by 40 full- and part-time staff members, and more than 200 volunteers. Membership is open to individuals, families, organizations and businesses and is governed by a board of trustees made up of 30 men and women from Bucks County and beyond.
