HARRISBURG – Rep. Craig Staats (R-Bucks) and Rep. Shelby Labs (R-Bucks) today announced that the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) has awarded Palisades School District funding through PDE’s Environmental Repairs Grant Program.

“It is fantastic to see Palisades School District receive money from this grant,” said Staats. “This funding from PDE will help Palisades make necessary improvements to school facilities to keep them safe for both students and teachers.”

"Our students and teachers deserve a safe and healthy environment in which to learn and teach, "Labs said.  "This funding is an important investment in facilities improvements that ultimately benefit the future of our students."

Palisades School District received a $170,684 grant from this program.

Pennsylvania school districts, career and technical education centers (CTCs), and charter schools that will receive grants from this program can use the funding to improve water infrastructure and eliminate contamination; install point-of-use treatment devices to reduce lead and other contaminants; remediate mold or asbestos contamination; and for other projects that remediate environmental hazards in school buildings.
