Staats, Coleman Announces More Than $1 Million in State Grants for Local Projects

September 15, 2026

HARRISBURG – Rep. Craig Staats (R-Bucks) and Sen. Jarrett Coleman (R-Bucks) today announced more than $1 million in Local Share Account (LSA) grants have been approved for projects supporting police, firefighters, infrastructure and public works in the 145th Legislative District.

“Local governments and emergency responders have a lot of needs competing for limited resources,” said Staats. “More than $1 million coming back to our communities will help them take care of some important projects without putting the entire cost on local taxpayers. I appreciate Sen. Coleman’s work with me to get these projects across the finish line.”

The grants include:

• $80,453 to West Rockhill Township for the Pennridge Regional Police Department to purchase an upfitted police vehicle and trailer. The vehicle will replace an aging detective vehicle and will carry patrol equipment and investigative tools.

• $212,936 to Quakertown Borough on behalf of the Quakertown Fire Department to replace outdated hydraulic rescue tools on Rescue 18, the department’s primary rescue response vehicle.

• $511,482 to Riegelsville Borough for a lead service line investigation to identify the materials used in the borough’s water system and comply with federal Lead and Copper Rule requirements.

• $214,084 to Springfield Township to replace a 1999 public works dump truck with a new truck equipped with plow and spreader attachments for year-round road maintenance and winter operations.

The four grants total more than $1 million.

"Ensuring that local priorities get the attention and funding they deserve goes a long way toward keeping our communities safe and vibrant,” said Coleman. “I’m proud to have worked with Representative Staats to support these projects, which will strengthen local neighborhoods for years to come.”

LSA grants are funded through gaming revenues and administered by the Commonwealth Financing Authority.
